On the sidelines of WHA79, the second GCM Participants Gathering builds on the momentum of the first gathering, held virtually in November 2025. It focuses on supporting countries in implementing the 2025 Political Declaration and its targets, with particular attention to advancing equitable access to essential medicines and related health technologies, reinforcing multisectoral governance approaches, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
The second GCM Participant gathering will be held on 19 May 2026, 10:00-12:30 CET in a hybrid format at WHO headquarters in Geneva and online. Participants attending in person are kindly requested to cover their own expenses.
The GCM Gathering is reserved for members of GCM Participant organizations, lived experience advocates, WHO technical teams, and invited guests only.
- In-person participation will be limited to maximum of 2 representatives per GCM Participant organization.(Please register by 31 March 2026)
- Online participation: GCM Participant organizations can register multiple representatives to attend online, and each participant should register individually. (Please register by 30 April 2026)

the Gathering: Launched in 2025, the Gatherings of the Participants of
the WHO Global Coordination Mechanism on the Prevention and Control of
Noncommunicable Diseases (GCM Participants Gatherings) are a bi-annual,
multistakeholder forum to advance collective advocacy and action on
NCDs.
