Background
Displacement and migration continue to shape global demographic, social and economic landscapes, with more than one billion people on the move worldwide. Refugees and migrants often face heightened health risks across their journeys due to legal, social, cultural, linguistic and structural barriers, compounded by broader determinants of health. Ensuring their health and well-being is a global public health priority and integral to achieving universal health coverage and the right to health for all. The WHO global action plan on promoting the health of refugees and migrants (2019–2030) provides countries with a clear, actionable roadmap to turn commitments into sustained impact.
WHO is launching the World report on promoting the health of refugees and migrants: Monitoring progress on the WHO global action plan. This flagship publication presents the first systematic global assessment of how countries are advancing commitments, filling an important evidence gap. Drawing on the 2025 Global Survey on Health and Migration with contributions from 93 Member States across all WHO regions, the report establishes a global baseline to understand where progress is being made, where challenges persist and where investment is most urgently needed to accelerate action.
This technical webinar will present the report, provide an overview of its scope and methodology, highlight its key findings and discuss implications for policy, programming and multisectoral collaboration.A detailed agenda will be available shortly.
