The WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia and Nymat Global are collaborating to organize a year-round youth engagement campaign on neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). The campaign, called “Youth Against NTDs”, will be launched during a webinar on World NTD Day.

Event objectives
- To commemorate World NTD Day by positioning the region’s youth as the central driving force for accelerating progress toward the WHO NTD road map 2030.
- To initiate technical and leadership capacity building for a targeted cohort of youth (aged 18-30) to support regional and national NTD priorities.
- To propose the Regional Youth NTD Task Force as a formal mechanism to connect youth-led actions with national health systems, by ensuring that efforts are integrated and aligned with government priorities.
Expected outcomes
- Initial consensus on youth participation roles in high-priority areas, including mass drug administration (MDA) and dog vaccination support, community awareness, education, stigma reduction (particularly for leprosy), and vector control.
- Public unveiling and endorsement of the 10-month implementation road map for country-level youth engagement workshops.
- Increased participant understanding of WHO NTD road map 2030 goals and regional priorities through interactive sessions.
